Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is a slower form of yoga where each individual postures are held for a longer period of time. This works on the deeper “yin” tissues of our ligaments, joints and deep fascial networks. Compared to the more active “yang” yoga that works the muscles in our body. Yang energy is about taking action and taking charge, where as the essence of yin is yielding, to allow and to flow with life. Yang is about changing the world; yin accepts the world as it is. There are times when it is appropriate and even necessary to change the outer circumstances; other times, it is best to allow things to unfold at its own pace. Part of the yin yoga practise is learning this yielding and apply it to our lives.
